Hello:
I thought I had it down pat, but no. I opened a picture today that has text boxes in it. No matter what I try, I cannot select an existing box. I want to change the text in it, and in some cases, I want to delete the existing box.
Please give me a clue (I have read a tutorial on Draw, but it did not cover T in any great detail (only a few lines).

Re: Draw
When text is drawn in XnView it becomes part of the image: pixels rather than editable text.Hans L wrote: Wed Feb 17, 2021 5:13 pm I thought I had it down pat, but no. In any case, the common file formats used don't support editable text, you would need Photoshop (Elements) or similar software and a suitable file format to add editable vector text...

cday, I understand. I will try to figure out a suitable piece of software to use. If you know of any free and very good software, I would appreciate a tip.
Again, thanks!

I don't know if GIMP might support editable text, otherwise for freeware you would have to make an online search. My only experience and a long time ago was using Photoshop Elements, which is much more affordable than the full Photoshop program. Or, you might be able to find a copy of Photoshop CS2 online, which would be a good choice other than possible security issues due to its age.Hans L wrote: Wed Feb 17, 2021 5:34 pm cday, I understand. Update: I see that the free software Paint.NET also supports editable text, using a plug-in, you might take a look at that first.
Re: Draw tool -- Can't edit added text
I did look at GIMP, but only cursory. Found this now:
"With GIMP -2.8, you can now edit text directly on canvas. A text tool box has been added which overlays the canvas above the text box. As soon as you click on the canvas with the Text tool, you get a closed text box and a semi-transparent tool box just above."
Sounds a little complicated, but what do I know.
I will look at Paintdot.net.
Thanks!
