"folder view" vs thumbnail browser

I'm sorry if this question has been asked before: I cannot figure out how to search a small enough subset of the posts!

Somehow the "folder" view pane - the leftmost panel - is not syncronizing with the display in the thumbnails panel (in the middle in layout 7).

I don't see any way to fix this. Refresh doens't work. I have checked the options to see what I have screwed up but cannot find it.

I presume that like always I've screwed something up. Xnview classic still works fine though.

Please advise!!
