Filling transparent areas with a certain color

Hi,

sorry if this thread already exist. I'm searching for a way to fill transparent areas with a certain color (like the option "replace color", just for transparency/alpha).

Everything I could find is the other way around (from color to transparency).

Can someone help? I've read about the way decreasing colour depth. However if the transparent areas turn white this way and then I replace all areas which are white, I would also replace areas which originally were white and not transparent.

So how can I do this?

Kind regards

you can use 'change color depth' to replace alpha

'change color depth' doesn't work for me. Whatever color I set to replace the transparency (alpha), the output always has white as the background.

I can confirm the issue you report.

Note that images displayed on the forum larger than a certain pixel size are rescaled to a smaller version, the original image can be viewed by left-clicking on the displayed image. The smaller preview version lacks transparency and has an RGB 24-bit colour profile rather than paletted colour. To download the full image exactly as posted it is necessary to left-click on the displayed image and then right-click to save the file.

To avoid any confusion I am attaching the original image in a ZIP archive.
