No, just "Compare" (Shift+C) in Browser, select 2 (or more) images and press Shift+C.TsunamiZ wrote:Is there a way to view 2 images side by side in fullscreen mode?

Some questions to better understand your request:TsunamiZ wrote:Is there a way to view 2 images side by side in fullscreen mode?
a) Divide display in left and right half or upper and lower half? Switching by menu/shortcut or automatically by image aspect ratio?
b) How do you want to navigate when two pictures are shown? Always switch to the next two pictures or one-by-one?
c) How to display information overlay?
d) What about context menu (in general)? Should it be the existing fs context menu (all actions affect the image where you opened the context menu)?
e) ... I think there are many more aspects that have to be considered...
I posted a request with some improvements some time ago here: improvements to compare window.Dreamer wrote:No, just "Compare" (Shift+C) in Browser, select 2 (or more) images and press Shift+C.TsunamiZ wrote:Is there a way to view 2 images side by side in fullscreen mode?
I think a good compare functionality becomes more and more valueable with the tons of pictures people make with digicams (most time more than one shot from one theme to be sure that there is a good shot). Expanding the compare functionality could perhaps satisfy the needs of TsunamiZ too!?

for me a fullscreen doublepicture mode would be enough.
without editingfunctions.
like the CDisplay comic reader http://www.geocities.com/davidayton/CDisplay.
divide left and right.
space -> next two pix.
-> minimizing the free space around the actual picture.
so if its scanned with a border where the picture has no information, automatically cut out, so the maximum comicstrip is shown.
-! this would also be a nice mode for a fullscreen one picture display.

Yes, a function similar to that for viewing dual page scans side-by-side.herr_k. wrote:for me a fullscreen doublepicture mode would be enough.

The program StereoPhotoMaker (http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/stphmkr/) is usually for a totally different purpose but it can do this. You can select the first left and right images (same or different folder) to open. As view mode select "side by side". Now you can navigate through the picture pairs, zoom or rotate, switch the resampling on/off... This works in browser mode, normal or fullscreen.
With lossless Jpeg Multi Conversion you can join images automatically.
It is by the way the only program I know where I can manually set the EXIF orientation flag. It is available in french, english and german.
I hope this helps as long as XnView misses this feature.

Any priority with this feature?
Many people have 16:9 screens at this point.
It's kind of made to show two pages side by side.
