Batch Rename Problems

Post by Photodom2000 »

Hi

I am running XnView MP Windows Version 0.98.3 32bits (May 6 2021) and I am having problems batch renaming files.

The issues are that when I select 1 as my start number with an increment of 1, the first file in the batch is not numbered to 1. See below.

Then when I try and renumber using a starting number of 9 with an increment of 1, it does not change the names at all. See below.

I am doing something wrong or misunderstanding the logic?

Please move this to bugs if that is the best location for it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You should try like this "Test_##.jpg"
# - 0-9
## - 00-99

hello I have this problem too. If I want to add pictures to an excisting batch I need to start the numbers with the first new one ( as seen in the screenshot with the 9) but is doesnot change the consecutive numbering and still starts with no number and then 2. The proposal with using ## in understanding is for creating a template.

I hope I could explain my little problem and maybe somebody knows a solution.

The numbering only works if you add a numerator.
Otherwise how the software can know where to put it and what format.
