The clipboard image data gets corrupted (or erased?) every time I exit XnView MP (with Esc or Alt-F4).
No matter if I am using Snipping Tool on my Win 10 Pro to take a screenshot or PrintScreen, as soon as I exit XnView that clipboard data is lost.
Most programs just don't react to Paste function. MS Paint says 'The information on the Clipboard can't be inserted into Paint' and Photoshop says 'Could not import the clipboard because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered'.
Everything works fine while XnView is still open - I can take a screenshot and paste it into any messenger window, or MS Paint, or Photoshop.
Also, even if I put a screenshot in clipboard before opening XnView, as soon as I close XnView, that screenshot data is gone.
XnView MP 0.98.3: Clipboard data gets corrupted on exit?

Hi Pierre!
Edit mode. I am not using browser mode and open XnView MP in 'Full screen - Viewer' mode (if it's relevant).
This way it doesn't work:
1. Open a photo in Full Screen, press shift-win-s (to start Win Snipping Tool) and select a screenshot area.
2. Close XnView with Esc.
3. Open Paint and press Ctrl-V and get a dialog window 'The information on the Clipboard can't be inserted into Paint'.
This works:
1. Open a photo in XnView, press shift-win-s (to start Win Snipping Tool) and select a screenshot area.
2. Open Paint with XnView still open in the background and press Ctrl-V - all good!

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.99.0. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

Unfortunately, this bug seems to still persist in version 0.99.1 (as well as in 0.99.0).
It can still be consistently reproduced by following the same steps mentioned in betteridea's previous post.

Re: XnView MP 0.98.3: Clipboard data gets corrupted on exit?
Okay, so it seems like this bug still exists only when using a third party screenshot tool (Postimage, in my case). Window's snipping tool seems to be working fine now, so that's good.
Here's my configuration and steps to reproduce the bug:
2. Use Postimage to save a screenshot of a region of the display to the clipboard.
3. Close XnView with ESC.
4. Open Paint and paste the image.
5. Get the popup: "The information on the Clipboard can't be inserted into Paint".
Likewise, keeping the app open in the background when pasting has no problems.
Here's a recording of the bug happening:

I'll probably go test other third party screenshot tools later today, like ShareX, and see if the bug still persists. If it's isolated to Postimage and the bug can't be fixed, then, most likely, I'll just switch screenshot tools to something else.
Here's my configuration and steps to reproduce the bug:
- Windows 10 Pro 21H1 Build 19043.1237
- XnView MP 0.99.1
- Postimage (https://postimages.org/app)
2. Use Postimage to save a screenshot of a region of the display to the clipboard.
3. Close XnView with ESC.
4. Open Paint and paste the image.
5. Get the popup: "The information on the Clipboard can't be inserted into Paint".
