Short, looped videos have annoying pause

Increasingly people are converting short, looping animated GIFs to MP4 because they are so much smaller. For example consider this random example from reddit: https://preview.redd.it/l58uwzz1d4c61.g ... 27f3d1aa02. Right clicking on the video in the browser results in a smooth, continuous looping sequence. If you save the MP4 and view it in XnViewMP, turning on Settings > View > Misc. > Loop Video Playing, the experience is jarring because the looping inserts a short break. Is there a way to get the video to loop continuously like in the browser?
