for a long time, xnview is very slow to open

i cannot even recall for how long, but since several updates ago xnview takes a long time to load, sometimes even frezes the pc for a moment, in a way i cannot even alt tab while i wait
currently using 0.98

i use a xeon 1270, 16gb ddr3 1600, intel 320 ssd, gtx 10603gb gpu

so i think it has nothing to do with my computer


is there anything to make xnview fast again?

on a folder with only 1 file, same problem?
