Do you have JPEG selected on your Output tab?

If 'Preserve extension' is selected, shouldn't the 'Format' options on the right be greyed out, otherwise isn't there a conflict in the interface?

in fact, it's for users that have .tiff or .jpeg as extension and don't want .tif or .jpg
