Hi,
I have looked on the forum but haven't found a clear answer to this and I'm nervous to try it before I'm sure.
I have tagged a batch of images using a set of categories but they have got a bit messy. I now have a new batch of photos to tag and would like to start again with a new set of categories. This is how I was planning to do it:
1. Backup existing categories (for use in future if I need them for the first batch of photos)
2. Clear the categories
3. Make a new categories txt file
4. Import new categories file and use for new images
Is this the right way to do it?
I want to make sure that:
a. When I clear the categories, this informaiton isn't deleted from the image metadata
b. If I want to restore the old categories data for the first batch of images in future I can do this (e.g. by importing the old categories data from the backed up file)
Thank you,
Verity

Re: Deleting categories but keeping metadata
Hi,
You want to organize the same categories differently on the new images ?
You can select your category in the "Categories filter" tab and move it.
You can do everything, rename move ... in the "categories filter" tab, this will affect all images in that category.

you can import old categories by browsing image files (if you have enabled importing keywords)b. If I want to restore the old categories data for the first batch of images in future I can do this (e.g. by importing the old categories data from the backed up file)
