Custom filter help

I need to filter on file extension, eg .png
The only way I can see to do this is to use the custom filter, and in the filter options turn on "exclude" (all three checkbox) and add all the other file extensions to the exclude list.
That works. But when I go into the filter dropdown and set to "all", the exclude is still in affect. It seems like it should only be active when "custom filter" is selected in the filter dropdown.

Is this intended or am I doing something wrong?

yes, the beviahor was always like that, exclude/include are applied to 'all ' too
Perhaps it will be good to add filters by ext?
