Tab shortcuts

Post by aozaki »

After using XnView for years now I just realised that this could be helpful :o

I hope there could be shortcuts for tab navigation.
e.g. ctrl+1 to jump to tab 1, ctrl+9 to the last tab, referencing Chrome's style.

This could come in really handy when dealing with a large bunch of tabs. Also I just found out XnView was probably one of few Apps providing tab on macOS. I really appreciate the design and hope it could be made better.

+1

You can use Ctrl+Tab for switching to next tab and Ctrl + Shift + Tab for switching to previous tab. In XnView Classic you can use F8 for switching to next tab in addition - this doesn't work in XnView MP, though. Shortcuts for switching to specific tabs directly is still a good idea.

Notes:
  • A longer time ago, Dreamer has written up a list of all shortcuts supported by XnView Classic. XnView MP is different and has different shortcuts but it's worth a look and worth a trial. Please see topic All Current keyboard Hotkeys & Shortcuts for more details.
  • In XnView MP you can configure shortcuts in "Tools > Settings" >> Interface | Shortcuts".

I understand but just hope XnView MP could have this function...
At least I think ctrl+tab switch to next tab was needed badly.

Also the shortcut doesn't have to be specifically Ctrl+1-9 IMO.
I remember the shortcuts were fully customisable, users can just replace all these shortcuts for that if tab navigation was need.

btw on macOS we still have option/control+1-9 :D
