Guidance on changing file timestamp

Post by Jettepet »

Hi , I recently went on vacation and forgot to change the time on my camera. I only just noticed it so now I have jpg files, ARW files and DNG files that have the wrong date on them and it is really hard to sort them now as the mobile phones all changed time automatically.
I tried to change the time stamp with the special time stamp button, but I so wished someone could show me what to do exactly and what options to choose (what boxes to tick).

I was hoping for a how to youtube video but can't find it. I must be doing something wrong as it looks like xnview changed it and at the same time it doesn't show in the explorer for the arw files. And when I open the test folder that I used in xnview it looks even more mixed up. The info underneath the photos is so mixed up: the jpg shows the old time, the arw files show the old times, the dng files shows the time when it was created and not when the original photo was taken -the 2 hours... (the dng-file does however show the changed time in windows explorer).
Anyone any good ideas?? Is this a bug in the program or is it a bug in my head?
Any help is much appreciated!

ok, so I think there is a bug. When reading the dng-file it doesn't read the actual time it was made. That info is embedded in the file though, but somehow doesn't show.
