1.02 - Linux - Companion files are shown

Post by holgre »

XnView: MP 1.02 - 64 bit
OS: Linux 64bit

Despite a proper setting under Settings>Companion the copmpanion files are shown.

My setting is: jpg > {ext}.xmp;xmp;exf;cr2;cr3;dng;raf (see screenshot)

Actual behaviour (bug): In a folder with .jpg and .cr3 files both file types are shown. When click to delete a jpg file the message asks, wether it should delete 2 files. When click to delete a cr3 file the message box asks only for 1 file.

I have the same program version installed under Windows. There the same setting is properly working.

yes it's normal, jpg is linked with cr3 but not cr3 with jpg, with your settings jpg is the master extension.
You have not the same behavior on windows?

Yes, that's how I want it to be: only see the JPG but no RAW file (exf;cr2;cr3;dng;raf).
It worked with these settings until 0.99.7 on Linux and Windows.
Now with 1.02 it worked only on Windows. There I see only JPGs, all other formats are handled as companion (when there is a JPG and a CR3 and a DNG and I want to delete the JPG it aks for deleting 3 files).
Ah, and on Linux I see a JPG and the CR3 (same situation: a JPG and a CR3 and a DNG), but not the DNG.

If you remove the 4 rules for {raw}?

I've deleted the 4 {raw} rules but the behaviour didn't change.

Ok, made some test settings:
I have 3 images with 4 files each: a JPG, a DNG, a CR3 and a XMP

1. with the above setting:
visible: JPG, DNG, CR3

2. deleted the 4 {raw} lines
same, visible: JPG, DNG, CR3

3. setting
* - {ext}.xmp;xmp
* - {ext}.xmp;xmp;exf;cr3;cr2;dng;raf
visible: JPG, CR3

4. setting
* - {ext}.xmp;xmp;exf;cr3;cr2;dng;raf
visible: JPG, CR3

5. setting
* - cr3
or
jpg - cr3
visible: JPG, DNG, CR3, XMP

I have to look, but I think so. I'll try to make them lowercase.

Checked it. Yes, the CR3 files had uppercase extensions. When I made them lowercase, it works as expected.
Will this be fixed or do I have to make them all lowercase from now on?

in 1.3.1, it's working with lower/uppercase, right?
