Stop auto generation of image thumbnails

Hi. In Tools>Settings>Browser>File List>Custom Filter, the settings for image thumbnails are turned ON by default and are greyed, meaning I cannot turn them off. Is there a way to change this? I reckon the settings for images should be changeable like all others.

image thumbnails setting can't be changed
