Keyboard shortcuts — language independent

Post by esv »

Currently if I switch keyboard language layout I can't use any shortcuts as they seem to depend on a layout, so even if I press the same physical key, the command doesn't fire
Would you please make them layout independent and react to the same physical key press regardless of the system language?
Thanks

It is language independant for me, just tried Arabic,Russian,Korean and Japaneese.
XnView: MP 1.3.0 64bits (Sep 6 2022)
OS: Windows 64bit (21H1)

Maybe there is a bug?
Need more detail (eg os,lang,shortcut).

Windows 10 x64 (21H2), same XnView MP 1.3 version x64 (but Mac also fails in the same way)
Maybe you use latin layouts to test when the keys don't actually change, but just change their location?

Any shortcut fails, but specifically tried rotate left/right
- map rotate left to slash /
- in the English layout this key outputs slash /
- in the Russian layout this key outputs period .

So, in the Russian layout I can't rotate with the slash key, but if I map some other action to period, then the slash key (which outputs period .) would invoke this action

Can confirm an issue in Russian layout with:
/ (. in RU), CTRL+/ -– does NOT work (suppose to zoom image to window/real size)

However, these keys/combinations work fine in Russian:
L, I, H, CTRL+S, SHIFT+S, SHIFT+C, SHIFT+E, CTRL+ALT+L

On a Mac none of these work, but I was surprised to find out that you're right on Windows, interesting partial bug...
