Try the opposite---

:) Hi !

- You could try the opposite handling, I mean resize the changed image to its original size; however, the output pic risks to look rather ugly, but there is not any else way if you didn't make a backup of your photo before, that is strongly recommended in all cases…
- You could improve a bit the size-restored pic using i.e. the "Sharpen" effects (with moderation…)

 Kind regards,

Let me be more precise. Basically I wanted to resize a few pictures and instead of choosing a percentage I typed in the values in the real size box. What i got were pictures of 25 X 25 or 3.79 kb. They are in .jpg format. When I try to make them large , all i get is blurriness. Sharpening also doesn't help. I didn't back them up and I couldn't find them in the original size on my computer besides the overwritten ones.

Any change of restoring ? (those were my Christmas pics :( )

Thank you very much,

Maria

You can try looking in your recycle bin and see if the originals were placed there when they got overwritten. If they didn't, then you're screwed.
It's always best to save altered images to a different directory in order to allow easy recovery in cases like this.

1st of all, wrong forum section. Moving on..

It looks like you messed the pics for good.

Well, since you replaced the original files there seems to be no way to get them back.

But...

If they came from a digital camera, even if you deleted the original when copying to the computer you can always use a program to get them back.
If you didn't take any more pics with that camera, the better!

Try this:

http://www.recovermyfiles.com/ (shareware)
http://www.runtime.org/gdb.htm (shareware) (GetData Back for FAT)

Or better on:

The files are probably not overwritten on the hard disk, just in the file allocating table. The file might still be left intact in your computer.

So, instead of trying to the restore the files from the memory card, you can try to restore them from your hard disk.
Such restore programs are available from the same places VooDoo links to.

Good luck!
