Color labels are disappearing for me

Color labels are disappearing for me. I use them with photos that are on external drives. When after some time I reconnect the disk the labels have disappeared.

It didn't happen before. I've been using this system for years and no problems. This problem has been happening to me for a month or so.

No, I just select the color in the context menu

so color label is only saved in database, the folder of external drive has not changed? Do you see it in Settings>Catalog?

The disk has not changed. And yes, it's in Settings>Catalog

There is definitely a bug where the database is losing data.

I just noticed that many image ratings, which I assigned to files over several years, disappeared in Version 1.3.1 64bits (Oct 11 2022).

I have (mostly?) worked around it by importing a backup database from August. However I probably lost the last 2 months' worth of file ratings.

It seems (95% sure) that "Categories" data was not lost. Only "Ratings" data was lost.

(Unfortunately I cannot share my current database and known-good August backup database because the images and image data are private.)

For my part I have stopped using the color classification and now I use the Album classification, and in this way I am not having problems
