1.4.0 - Saving AVIF file with YUV 420 setting => saved as YUV444

Post by masterjp »

Merry christmas everyone!

I saved a PNG file to avif format with XnviewMP and could not open it with android phones and tablets.
Today I recognized, that XnviewMP saved the avif file with YUV 444, although I selected the YUV 420 format for saving.

Please check it and fix it. Thank you!

Here you can see the EXIF-Infos from the saved file.

The switch for YUV 420 color format works perfect.

Now it is possible to view images on Android 12 or newer devices.

There is only a problem with picture sizes with odd length or height, but it is a problem of the avif libraries in android 12 or newer!
XnViewMP does not produce the error. Android 12 can not handle picture sizes with odd height or length. :?
I hope they fix it in Android OS.
