Search Files By Type

I just installed

XnView MP Windows
Version 1.4.0 64bits (Dec 12 2022)

Libformat version 7.132

I learn this tool through ChatGPT as I need to find any folds containing image files. As the starting point, I search images by type, JPG. For some reason, the search result yields a lot of entries in addition to JPG files. I have to abort the search after 80 K returned files. Is it a usage error? if so, how to correct it?

The forum provides a way to set notifications, not a facility that I use, but if you search online 'phpbb set notifications' there should be instructions.

I am lost. What I asked for is a notification of a new XnView release, but not a new message on this thread.

I don't as I said use notifications as I visit the forum regularly, and looking more closely you could probably only at best set a notification for new XnView MP -- General Support posts, which would be of very limited use.

There is no system to provide personal notification of a new version, not practical given the number of users.

Maybe there is a way to receive notifications specifically for XnView MP -- General Support -- Announcements, which should provide what you need...

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.4.3. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
