XnViewMP on Mac displayed as hard drive in Finder
I have 1.4.2 on an M1 Mac Monterey 12.6.3. Of course, XnViewMP is in the Applications folder, but strangely there is also an XnViewMP folder that shows up in Finder as if it is a hard drive, external disk, or CD/DVD. None of my other apps install themselves this way. Something very strange is going on. Any ideas?

Re: XnViewMP on Mac displayed as hard drive in Finder
I have the same issue - every time I start up my computer XnView appears as a drive in my "finder" window.
I can remove it from there BUT when go to use XnView - I click on the XnView icon I have placed in my Dock and then XnView just reappears as a drive in the finder window. On starting the app it goes through a "verification" process after which it tells me that this was an app downloaded from the internet so do I want to use it. A XnView "external drive icon" also appears on my desktop!
So it seems that the "drive" designation in my finder window and the desktop icon appearance must happen before I can use the app.
Note that even with this odd behaviour the app DOES seem to work so I am very pleased with what it does - I just worry that it all seems a bit odd and I have done something wrong. I have never seen an app behave like this before.
thanks for any help folks can provide.
Doug

follow up - seems to be working now! I think I was "reinstalling" the app every time I went to use it. The installation XnView icon was the only one I could find but now the app icon has appeared and when I click on it (even when I move to the dock) the app opens and I don't get any of that odd "drive" stuff happening
many thanks! Doug
