Change timestamp & long path
Looks like this bug is also there for "Change Timestamp." If you try to Change Timestamp on a file that has a long path, it will silently fail (no error shown to user, no change made to the file). If you move the file somewhere else (shorter), it will suddenly work.

Re: Change timestamp & long path
*Open a jpeg with a long path (i.e. any of the examples previously given)
*Switch interface to Browse mode
*Tools->Change Timestamp
*Dialog settings like this: https://jiij.cc/snaps/2023-04-22_08.38.07.png
*Click "Write"
*The Date Taken does not shift by 1hr
If you move the same image to a shorter path & try the same process, it will shift properly.

Re: Change timestamp & long path
Sorry about that, the server I use for hosting images crashed just this weekend. Here's a mirror: https://imgur.com/a/eEfwNgk

Re: Change timestamp & long path
I can reproduce, issue reopened. But if you use 'Create EXIF metadata', exiftool will be use and will failed to use this long path.

Not explicitly. What I'm doing is exactly as documented in the previous post, this one: viewtopic.php?p=186987&sid=b7a83e1f105f ... a0#p186987

Re: Change timestamp & long path
In the screenshot, 'Create EXIF metadata' is checked. Exiftool is used in this case but doesn't support long path namemetal450 wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 4:20 pm Not explicitly. Re: Change timestamp & long path
Whether I leave that checked or unchecked, the behavior is the same - the exif timestamp doesn't get updated. Here's a video showing it with that checkbox unchecked: https://jiij.cc/snaps/2023-05-25_16.35.05.mp4
(Also, in all cases - with or without the checkbox - if it fails there should be a warning message, rather than silently failing. Imagine you have a bunch of photos selected, some with shorter names and some with longer ones, and you try to change timestamps. You'll be left with a state where some of them were updated and some weren't, and you'd have no indication that something went wrong).
