Tools - Settings - Interface - Shortcuts tab
I wanted to set the Fullscreen to F, instead of the default F11.
While the shortcut list shows F as the new custom shortcut for Fullscreen, it does not work. I still have to press F11 if I want to switch to fullscreen.

it works
however, entering new shortcut is a bit unpleasant as
there is 2 sec delay before your newly typed shortcut will be accepted (see blue circle)
only after that you can press OK

OK, there were no clear steps how to reproduce the bug. Sorry about that. I know 2 different methods now to reproduce it. I also found the way which made you think it works.
It WORKS, when you press the new key on the actual, selected Thumbnail. When you are on the Browser Tab.
However, if you doubleclick the thumbnail, the pictue opens in a new Tab. The Tab's name is the filename. If you press the new key here, nothing happens, only the default F11 will work.
Same happens, when you have XnView as the default program to open pictures and try to open one from a file manager (like TC). You get a Tab, which has the name of the file you opened, and the custom fullscreen button won't work.

shortcuts for Browser and Viewer modes are different
you have to select right mode before changing shortcut (see combobox in the top left corner on picture in prev post)
