Crashes while trying to open a folder

Post by michael_ »

OpenSuSE Tumbleweed, Plasma
XnView MP 1.45 for Linux from AppImage

This new version works mostly as stable as ever, everything is fine, except when trying to open one folder (no more found til now) XnViewMP crashes immidiately after showing the foldercontent for a ultrashort part of a second... The folder contents jpg-photos, one mp4, one tif, one pto, all from a Panasonic DMC-FZ1000 and two more folders with (different) names.

Starting XnView MP from a console the behavior is the same. The message from the console is:

Code: Select all

LOAD BITMAP </Photo/Fotos/Panasonic DMC-FZ1000/2022_10_25/P1420519.jpg>
GFF :: LoadThumbnail : 160 120  (0)
LOADED & CREATED
BLOB length 29962
LOAD BITMAP </Photo/Fotos/Panasonic DMC-FZ1000/2022_10_25/P1420521.jpg>
GFF :: LoadThumbnail : 160 120  (0)
LOADED & CREATED
BLOB length 29962
==> /Photo/Fotos/Panasonic DMC-FZ1000/2022_10_25/P1420837.MP4 0
/tmp/.mount_XnViewcJfShu/usr/bin//xnviewmp: Zeile 5: 21519 Speicherzugriffsfehler  (Speicherabzug geschrieben) "$usr/XnView/XnView" "$@"
michael@4KTumble:~/Desktop/Downloads>

With XnViewMP V1.43 this error doesn't persist.

Any help available?

Thankis
Bye

it seems that you have a crash with mp4 file. if you don't use thumbnails for video file, no more problem?

Hi,

this is a usual video, recorded with the cam, who's name can be seen in the error-report. It plays without any problem on different players, the video-characteristics can be seen in the attached screen-copy. Renaming to *.txt fixes the problem, the folder is read by xnview 1.45. Renaming the file back to *.mp4 makes xnview 1.45 to freeze completly. Same behaviour with other folders with mp4-files-content.

As written on the startpost, xnview 1.43 doesn't have any problem with this file.

Bye
Michael

please try to change debug=2 in xnview.ini, and start XnView in terminal to have more logs
