'Clean metadata' works lossless only on JPEG. In viewer, it works on metadata loaded

Re: 1.5.0 - browser - clean metadata - menu is not active
yeah, I understand that in Viewer it cleans metadata of loaded image, and than you need to save image to have effect.
Approach that I not a big fan of (as it shall be done via Apply/Write buttons), but thats not the point of this topic.
I just referenced Viewer because its technically possible to get image metadata deleted in XnViewMP.
Now I would like to have this functionality in Browser mode, select multiple files, press clean metadata, done.
There are metadata removal tools exist that can delete metadata lossless from JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, WebP
eg for PNG - delete all non critical chunks (eXIf, iTXt, pHYs, etc) and resave file
I just cannot understand what stops from having the same functionality in Browser mode.
