XnviewMP 1.5.2
I opened an image from the browser view into its own tab. I clicked on "crop" button, pressed CTRL-A to select entire image, then moved the borders and clicked crop to edit the image. I did not save the edited image.
I pressed CTRL-A again to select entire image, then CTRL-C to copy to clipboard. In another application, I used CTRL-V to paste the image. It pastes the original saved image, not the unsaved edited one.
I expected to copy to clipboard what I am seeing on screen, even if it not saved?
If this is by design, could admins move my post to feature request?
Thank you and kind regards.
Can't copy to clipboard an edited image that is not saved?

Re: Can't copy to clipboard an edited image that is not saved?
Thank you for checking.
I am pasting the edited image most often into Microsoft Word and a webmail compose window. Have also pasted into Techsmith Snagit and Gimp with same result.
I am using Windows 11 Pro 22H2 and XnViewMP 1.5.2 is portable version. (This has been happening for some time, it is not new to 1.5.2.)
Try:
1. XnViewMP browser pane full of images
2. Double-click an image to open in new tab
3. Ctrl-A to select entire image
4. Ctrl-C to copy that image to clipboard
5. Move grid lines to some new positions
6. Click crop button
7. Ctrl-A to select entire (unsaved, cropped) image
8. Ctrl-C to copy to clipboard
9. Open MS-Word
10. Ctrl-V to paste
Original image is always pasted for me, not the unsaved edited one.
(In an unrelated post I reported the browser pane doesn't update when an image is deleted from its own tab, 99% of the time for me. You were not able to reproduce. Also XnViewMP portable and Windows 11 Pro 22H2. Wondering if W11 is at play...?)

Re: Can't copy to clipboard an edited image that is not saved?
Thank you.
I got an interesting result with the unsaved cropped image.
1. Pasting into Gimp I now get a copy of the cropped image and not the original. Yay!
2. Pasting into my webmail client I now get a copy of the cropped image and not the original. Yay!
3. Pasting into MS-Word I now get a text full path to the original image instead of any image. (Pasting from the unedited original image still works fine.) ???
