In settings General > File operations, with "Save as copy for 'Save' action" activated, doing a Save As still creates a separate copy of the file and the viewer stays with the original file.
Expected behavior would be that the original file is abandonned from the viewer and the viewer stays with the new file.

When a file is open in a tab, a 'Save' action saves the current state of the [normally edited] image, the new file replaces the existing file, and the displayed image remains unchanged, doesn't it?geoffm wrote: Tue Aug 15, 2023 5:25 pm In settings General > File operations, with "Save as copy for 'Save' action" activated, doing a Save As still creates a separate copy of the file and the viewer stays with the original file.
When the 'Save as copy' option is selected, the current state of the displayed image is saved to a new file, the original file that was opened is unchanged, and the image in the tab is again the current state of the [normally edited] image which has just been saved, isn't it?
In both cases the image displayed in the tab is the image that has just been saved, the behaviour that you are expecting?

you would like that new file (save as) will be used by Viewer?
