Improve Before|After view

Post by Koogle »

Can the UI be improved a bit more with the Before|After view...

Basically a Split view would be nicer... even better if there was a slider that could be adjusted across the image.. I know it more advanced than just 2tabs.. but way more useful to see the difference then going between 2 tabs....

also if you resize the image 50% you want the comparison to show best fit... ie Before (100%) and After(100%) so scaled up to fit the view...

I find split view slow to use as it is mouse movement. It is useful if you can take time to study differences but usually I need half a second to see if the result is ok. Thus current two-button UI is not ideal either. Best so far has been Photoshop way, mousedown on image reveals original, default view is after view. Eye icon toggle is also ok, click eye open is after, click eye closed is before.

I think the easiest way would be to click on the image to switch before and after images.
The hardest way would be to add a slider like in NVIDIA Image Comparison Analysis Tool (ICAT) for example. :D

Or just replace Before and After tabs with a single button, the button can be toggled without additional mouse movements so this is a faster (vs tabs) way to see the differences...
