Automatically apply parent category - Ctrl+click is ignored

To reproduce:
0. clean portable version
1. goto Settings
- check ☑ Automatically apply parent category (Ctrl+click for single category)
- press OK
2. open Browser tab
- select any image
3. goto Categories pane
- Ctrl+click on any subcategory to assign it (eg Animals)
parent category (Photographs) will be assigned as well

expected behaviour
only one, current cat (Animals) should be assigned


Suggestion

• rename
  Automatically apply parent category (Ctrl+click for single category) →
  Automatically assign parent Category (Ctrl+click for current only)
  
  its better to
  - always capitalize metadata terms (Rating, Color label, Keywords, Category)
  - use 'assign' over 'apply' for metadata
  - avoid repeating

I don't understand, if setting is checked, category's hierarchy is selected

I'm refereeing to the bracketed part of of the setting - (Ctrl+click for single category)
maybe I'm missing something, but my understanding is that
this should change the default behavior of this feature (when the feature is enabled), for example:

• LMB click
  click on child -> assign child AND parent(s)

• Ctrl+LMB click
  click on child -> assign only child

Otherwise, what is the intent behind the text "(Ctrl+click for single category)"?
