My workflow with images from my point-and-shoot camera involves converting the jpg that is produced by the camera to a tif, and making edits, and resizing the tif, and saving it as a jpg.
Most of the editing I do is with PaintShop Pro 8, which saves the EXIF data when converting from jpg to tif. But the final resizing I do with IrfanView, which does not save EXIF data with tif files.
Can XnView transfer EXIF data from a jpg to the tif, when it is converted or afterwards? Can it transfer EXIF data from one tif to another tif?
I tried using Exifer for this but apparently it does not backup and restore EXIF in TIF files.

XnView doesn't support EXIF in TIFF-images. If you save a JPEG with EXIF-data as TIFF, there is a warning, that metadata is lost...
