File Rights in Linux change after some actions

Post by Benrasi »

Hi,
I run XnView MP Version 1.8.2 on Kubuntu 24.04.1

When I do a JPEG losless operation (cut or rotate) OR when I change IPTC data the rights (from the system side) to my file (picture) have been changed:

Before: 666 (which means beside of the owner and group the "other users" have the right to write the file.

After: 664 (The "other users" have NO MORE the right to write the file; other rights unchanged)

Greetings,
Ben

Do you use internally tools like ExifTool to change the IPTC settings?
