I am trying to rename a large number of files with .jpeg extension to .jpg via batch rename feature.
No matter what combination of options I seem to enter, I always get the same error: "The files cannot be renamed, an error occurred."
To recreate, set the name template to just be the existing filename. Enable extension, and set it to "jpg". I have tried leaving out the name template, using replace, trying just one file as opposed to many - nothing works.
Maybe I can do it by batch convert but it should just be a simple rename operation. I think it has worked previously, potentially when there were non ".jpeg" files in the batch to be processed, but now trying to rename 900+ files all with that extension just fails.
I am using the latest version of XnView on macOS Sonoma.
"The files cannot be renamed, an error occurred."

I don't know why but it's working now.
