rc1: runtime error/high memory use creating jp2 lossless

Post by marsh »

Problem 1: Saving as jp2 lossless requires huge amount of memory and does not finish. Much more than saving as jpg, png, tif, bmp. 1300+ Megs virtual memory saving a hi-res pdf file. Saving as BMP resulted in 210Megs.

Possible problem 2: Low virtual memory dialog not appearing. Win2k. Virtual memory fixed at 640 meg.

Microsoft visual c++ runtime error.... abnormal program termination.
I'm using save-as jp2 lossless on huge pdf file (506k 10199x7199 pdf options at 300dpi normal size). With v.1.80.3, this error occurs after low memory dialog box. With v.1.82rc1, this error occurs without any low memory dialox appearing. For this test I was using 640Megs virtual memory, fixed. 512mb chip memory.

Test #2 Increasing maximum possible size of virtual memory to 2048Megs.
Virtual memory used by save-as jpg is rising to 1320Meg. It peaks out here and doesn't finish save-as.
