Hi everyone.
I've been using XN View for many years, but have never taken advantage of TAGGING files, by which I mean to add Category TAGS to photos so that I can leave all photos in one place and not hidden all mixed up in folders.
Now that I'm retired I'm hoping to compile a historical archive of all the photos taken from 1998 when digital photography began to take off.
Can anyone please guide me in this?
Thanks in anticipation.

How can I tag photos to avoid need to categorise in folders?

I have the same problem, maybe a disappointing answer but I want to reinforce the problem

You mean using categories (keywords) instead of moving photos into thematic folders ?
Consider saving your work as embedded keywords in xmp or iptc metadata .
