there is no reason to use win7 on consumer devices in 2025, its extended support ended on January 14, 2020

please update QT to ver 6 (eg the latest LTS 6.8 ), so that UI scaling works better

Yes, I use then Win7 needed for working CAD (writ's only in to Tru64 UNIX (DEC OSF/1) or FreeBSD for Alpha AXP or Win7 SP1 x64). And it does not intend to spend money on the purchase of useless equipment for the sake of launching Win11. I am satisfied with the workstations assembled with my own hands based on the Xeon E5 2697V2 and to run to put not reliable SSD that at any time are able to lose data without energy education as an engineer I do not see technical necessity. You never know that the sales department of the manufacturer of these devices has already calculated potential profits - let them live by reality. The level of security of the safety of the HDD data has been achieved - let's see, but for now, the theoretical period of storage of data on EEEPROM (all Flash technologist ) does not exceed 10 - 12 years after recording.

You are not right - any technique is morally obsolete only when the tasks solved by it, or the cost of its repair becomes comparable with the purchase of a new one who is able to solve these problems with the same economic efficiency.

In all other cases, the transition to new equipment and programs under the pretext "Update is required because the company announced the termination of support" permanently because manufacturers of operating systems and hardware are mutually interested in the constant issue of new products because in the initial period of their sales they resolve their economic issues at the expense of the client, and not profit from the sale of serial products.

If reasonably practical, XnView MP should support Windows 7 to allow users to make their own, informed, decisions... :D

It can be assumed that they will be aware of the risks of going online, and in any case, they may not need to do so while using that computer.

win7 market share to date:
0.15% per steam
2.25% per statcounter.com

You can take all your complaints about necrosystem support to the QT development team.
I'm sure they would love to hear from you, lol.

Stats only for users who go online...

I retain my Windows 7 computer so that I can, if I need to, access software I don't have installed, and probably couldn't install, on my later computers... :D

It hasn't been online for a long time now.

Not, I think, from a surveys, but from information that can be accessed when a computer connects to a website: my energy supplier can see the charge level of my laptop from data the Chrome browser can view... :(

When and if you do stop supporting Windows 7, please give a prominent warning in the new-version announcement and elsewhere. Those of us sticking with Win7 might not like it, but finding out the hard way that an upgrade doesn't work on our systems is worse.
