no .fit entry in system settings - format .....

Hi guys,
I use XnView MP 1.8.3 under Ubuntu-Mate and would like to manage or view my astrophotos with it. Basically every format works except .fit.

I use the German language and under system settings - formats there is no .fit entry. Do I have to install a plugin or is this a bug in the software?

A little help would be very nice.

do you have enabled 'Settings>General>Show all graphic formats'?
