XnView: MP 1.8.5 64 bit (Linux) - Libformat 7.201
OS: Linux 64bit (debian testing)
There is a strange bug with JPEG XL (jxl) files, which appears when you open those files (checked in 1.8.3 version and 1.8.5).
sample files:
screencast of behavior: https://mega.nz/file/DVoQFQKJ#R0FpvE51l ... rb-fJwoSQI
What happens in the screencast:
Any arbitrary file opens okay in viewer-fullscreen, then if I switch to browser view I can see some thumbnails garbled.
If I open garbled files in a browser, they still look garbled.
But if I open these garbled files from the file browser, they open normally.
BUT, then those files that had correct thumbnails previously - are impossible to read now by xnview (after thumbnail refresh they lose thumbnails).
Then if I open the first file again, I can see correct thumbnails (I have thumbnail caching on), and after refresh it all comes back to the beginning.
Those with garbled thumbnail files are the minority, most jxl files look okay.

After looking through converted files, I spotted that those files that have an alpha channel become "garbled" in xnview.
