Sort order when using arrow keys?

Post by vurt »

I really like xnview but one thing i've always found extremely irritating is that when i use the arrow keys to view the images the order is a total mess, not sure what order it decides upon but it's not by date. is there a setting somewhere to fix this?

i usually solve this by creating folders for my newly created textures so that i can browse just the ones i just did, but if it sorted the viewing by date this wouldn't be needed.

Many thanks

In XnView Classic or the newer and now recommended XnView MP?

In either, sort order is set in the file browser, in XnView MP in the View menu, with on close reading three sort levels.

Many thanks! If i only had asked this earlier (like 5 years ago lol)...
This is so much better :)

I use classic. i only really use it to browse dds, tga and png images, and sometimes right click to open something in photoshop.

I understand from my own experience that it can take time to discover better ways of working... :D

Please post any further support questions in the support section of the program you are using, although XnView Classic is still supported it receives little attention, and XnView MP is where the action is now with continuing browser development and additional image editing functions, as well as other advantages.
