Have the "Map" tab always available, and be able to select a position clicking on the map

Post by LaurentG »

Currently, the "Map" tab is only available if selected image has GPS position inside its Exif.
When we browse a folder in which some pictures have, and other do not, the map tab appears and disappear, that oblige user to re-select it whe he goes from a non-tagged to a geo-tagged image.
It would be easier and above all more "fluid" if the tab do not disappear when we switch to a "non-tagged" picture.

Obviously, in this case, there shouldn't be any "mark" on the map. The map should remain centered on the same position than with the previous (tagged) image, only the mark disappear. If the first displayed image is not tagged, map coud be centered on last displayed position (in previous session), or default to 0,0 (that is somewhere in Guinea Gulf :) )

The fact that "Map" tab is available everytime could lead also to another great feature I'd like to see developped : To be able to select a position directly on the map.... to update with this GPS positon current image !

Upvote +1 for both suggestions

Regarding adding on map:

This is one thing I love about Lightroom since I'm a travel and street photographer. Lightroom handles it this way:
1) For images without GPS Data, you can to search for a location in the map module and then right-click on a spot to add.
2) For images with GPS Data, you can move the location marker on the map module or delete it.
