Question about this XNViewMP file

Hello

I'm a new XNViewMP app user and like it very much.
I installed it using "XnViewMP-linux-x64.deb" two weeks ago and now I'm proceeding in deleting files in my Linux Cinnamon Downloads folder.
And in this folder, I saw this file : "XnView_MP.glibc2.17-x86_64.AppImage".
What is it and what is the purpose of it?
If useful, how can I use and why?
I'm just new with Linux but proceeding to know a lot more!

it's another package, if you use .deb you can remove the AppImage
