Batch resize: adjust jpg compression

Post by bohning »

Hi all,

I want to batch resize many images to 1000x1000, but want to also adjust jpg compression quality so that the resulting image is *just* below 1 MB. Is that possible? In the output tab I set target format to jpg, and in the jpg settings, I can only set a fixed jpg compression quality, but instead I would like to set a target (max.) file size and have the jpg compression quality adjust dynamically to reach that target file size.

If it is possible, it would be great if someone could help me out here. If not, it would be a feature request ;-) Thanks a lot!

P.S. I guess I should open another thread, but this is a quick one: I've always wondered what the difference between Lanczos and Lanczos2 for resizing is. Maybe someone can explain that shortly as well.
