Question to NConvert 7.221

Post by herb »

Hello Pierre,

I am working on my Windows 10 system with NConvert version 7.192
You released this version because of post "Question to NConvert and Windows Short-Filenames". Please see viewtopic.php?t=47413

By accident I found a version 7.221 on your internet-site https://www.xnview.com/de/nconvert/
I thought this is a successor of unicode-version 7.192
But I have lots of problems with this new version using the testfile used for version 7.192
I get very often: 0 files opened / 0 file written

Is this a misunderstanding on my side?

Best regards

Hello Pierre,

thanks for your quick reply.
do you use the 7.221 unicode?
This is difficult to answer for me:
On site https://www.xnview.com/de/nconvert/ I downloaded NConvert for Windows 64-bit. The filename is NConvert-win64.zip.
In properties of the contained *.exe file I only see FileChanged on 28.3.2025.

In DOS-box the command: nconvert.exe gives:

Code: Select all

 ** NCONVERT v7.221 (c) 1991-2025 Pierre-E Gougelet (Mar 28 2025/08:37:57) **
Version for Windows 7/8/10/11 x64 (All rights reserved)
** This is freeware software (for non-commercial use)
In forum: Board index -> XnView Family -> NConvert I only see NCovert 1.192

Best regards

Hello Pierre,

thanks for the file. You are great.
A short quickcheck showed: all is running fine.

I will remember the address in order to find - next time - the correct file myself.

Thanks again.
Best regards
