No thumbnails stored for external drives

Post by Horuss »

Hi,

I've noticed very strange behaviour for MP (Windows 10).

I have enabled thumbnails generation and store (Settings -> Catalog), no limits, and it works as expected on default HDD's, and miniatures are shown on the list in "Catalog maintenance" overview.

But for external drives (pendrives, SD cards, HDDs on USB), it does not work, no records are added there.
So each time in Browser it slowly generates new thumbnails, instead of reading them from DB.

If I copy the same images folder on built-in drive - it all works.

Even if I try to manually point the external drive folder (via "Import folder" button), the progress bar is shown, but at the end nothing is added to the list of Catalog Maintenance.

I have no specific drive protections or anything. I tried also open Xnview MP as Admin, but same effect.

UPDATE: on the same files and same external drives - the XnView Classic works fine

Any ideas?

it's empty. I tried to add directly some folders as "included" but it didn't change a thing

Oh man, yes, that was it! I can't believe I didn't saw it. Now it all works as expected, obviously.

Thank you for your support.

It's a great piece of software!
