Change in behavior when clicking on a folder favorite with a disconnected drive

If a folder favorite points to a folder on a drive that is not mounted, clicking on it brings up a prompt asking whether it should be removed. Can you change this behavior (via an option in the settings) so that this message doesn't appear every time I accidentally click on it? The reason is that I don't want to have to delete the folder favorites every time my external drive isn't mounted. But I also don't want to have to constantly confirm that I don't want to remove them.
