A common task with batch conversion is reducing images to save space. To do this it would be helpful to have fuller stats of the %, and also minimum percent saved option, as follows -
* % Files Stats - After batch conversion, provide a statistical summary of the individual % filesize values in the form of min, max, average, stddev, however this is not needed if there are only a few files, but very useful if you've converted 1000, as you can see at a glance what filesize saving was achieved and if any underperformed; this would be in addition to the existing total filesize and total saving.
* % Threshold Option - It would be helpful for the conversion settings to have an option of minimum percent saving to achieve, and those files should not be output, or are output and removed or perhaps to cover all options put in a subdirectory for study (eg .../smallsaving/*). The purpose of this is that if the intention is to replace the original files you only want the size-saving ones to move over the originals.
* Error Highlighting - In the case of errors it would be very helpful for the output to highlight this in colour - the whole output pane could change colour, any error references in the summary or in the file list ideally could be put in red. The reason for this is that it is very easy to overlook that an error is reported.
* Taskbar ETA and Completion - During conversion it would be helpful if the taskbar label could indicate progress; on completion if it took more than say 30 secs, the taskbar label should flash, this is very helpful when you are waiting for a long conversion. At the moment you have to keep checking how it is doing.
Cheers, David
