When losslessly cropping, the exact pixel is often less important than getting the right ratio of sides, since the whole purpose of cropping is to fit it to some destination task, which may be dominated by pictures having the same shape.
So for example if you make a 1:1 square selection, the lossless crop for it is usually not square.
* Can I suggest to resolve this that under "Lossless Transformations" there be a "Snap selection to encoding grid", which when toggled on would take priority over any other snapping.
