I have been using various Ubuntu versions for many years but had no occasion until now to install anything other than from a repository.
The download page offers three different packages for Linux.
Can anyone advise me on which version to use?

Re: Advice on LInux Installation?
What kind of advice do you need, do you actually need to change from the Ubuntu versions?
I moved from Windows to Linux Mint a few years ago and use Pierre's DEB version successfully, a potential issue with alternative installs such as DEB and TGZ is security, but I have no reason for concern with the security of XnView-produced downloads. The Appimage version, I believe, is nominally self-contained, as are the Flatpak downloads which are not produced by Pierre, with at least a slight delay before new versions become available.
