Renaming files in view mode

If I want rename a file in view mode, the length of the file name is limited too much. It should allow me to use much longer name, just as it is possible in browse mode.

Looks fixed in the new RC version.

Right, this is (sort of) fixed in 1.82: In Version 1.80 only 44 characters were possible, in version 1.82 it's many more.

In 1.82 RC3 it's actually 256 characters for filename plus 3 characters extension. This is actually too much and will make XnView GPF, I'll write a separate problem report.
