The mouse settings shown in the image below are suggested for improvement:
1) Add a "[Enter Full Screen]" option (not the right-click function key)
2) Add a "[Exit Full Screen]" option
3) Use the scroll wheel for the next/previous image (no need for a button)
4) Right-click and hold to zoom the image.
The goal is to reduce keyboard input by using mouse control.

Re: New Mouse Features
Tip: You can do this now without XnViewMP software changes by using free software like XMouseButtonControl or Logitech Options to bind specific keystrokes to specific mouse buttons for specific applications.alee001 wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 6:13 am

People have been using this approach for many years to customize to their liking software like this (or like Irfanview which is completely non responsive to certain types of requests).
I suggest you give it a try.

Re: New Mouse Features
Thank you for your feedback. Using third-party software to customize the mouse is indeed convenient, but the problem is that it is an add-on with limited stability; otherwise, it would have been part of the Windows system settings long ago.jkm wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 8:11 amTip: You can do this now without XnViewMP software changes by using free software like XMouseButtonControl or Logitech Options to bind specific keystrokes to specific mouse buttons for specific applications.alee001 wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 6:13 am

That is not a problem. I'm afraid you’ve been misinformed. I’ve been using it for many years with zero issues, as have many others. It’s extremely stable. MS does not provide for detailed customization of Windows as a matter of principle, not because of instability.alee001 wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 1:07 pm it is an add-on with limited stability; otherwise, it would have been part of the Windows system settings long ago.
Perhaps you use a generic 2 button mouse, or a laptop with no mouse at all? Even many laptops preinstall 3rd party software for trackpad control.
Even Microsoft branded and manufactured mice come with external software that must be installed separately from Windows to control and customize their functions.
And of course, XnViewMP is third party software. If capable image viewing had been built into Windows after 30 years, then people would use the built in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
Your computing experience will improve if you give it a try.
Best of luck to you….

Re: New Mouse Features
You might misunderstand, but aside from stability, using the mouse and keyboard combination simultaneously is already a custom function. However, all the suggestions I've made are basic functions.jkm wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 7:42 pmThat is not a problem. I'm afraid you’ve been misinformed.
