XnViewMP appimage 1.9.10
I have my catalog with about 12,000 photos. It's divided in:
- people
-- family
-- friends
-- others
- places
-- ...
When I add add more photos to the directory that these photos should belong to, they don't show in the browser.
How should I update these folders?
Thanks

Re: How to update the import?
I'm not sure which browsing you are asking:
- using thunar or bash, I see the files, they are in the proper folders
- using xnviewmp browser window, i do not see them
or I must be missing some operation
Thanks

Re: How to update the import?
artsi, are you saying that in the XnViewMP browser window, you browse to a directory, and you see some images in that directory, but not others in that same directory?
If so:
1. Check your filter settings in the browser. Set it to ALL
2. Try the Synchronize Folders button in Tools->Settings:Catalog
3. If the problem persists you might need to use the "Maintenance" button

[Solved] Re: How to update the import?
I don't think that I made myself clear.jkm wrote: Fri Jan 23, 2026 8:42 pm artsi, are you saying that in the XnViewMP browser window, you browse to a directory, and you see some images in that directory, but not others in that same directory?

Last year 10-oct-2025, I created the directory and added a few hundred photos:
1. 10-Oc-2025: xnviewmp: no problem
2. 17-Jan-2026: i added (with thunar: the xfce file manager) 75 photos to the directory, including the tofino* images.
3. Later that day, I wanted to rate these photos in xnviewmp and they were nowhere to be seen.
4. The filter was: images only
I just ran:
Tools -> Settings:Catalog -> Synchronize Folders and now it works. I can see the photos that I added to the directory on the 17-Jan-2026.
Now, I know.
Merci

Re: How to update the import?
Glad it worked.
Out of curiosity, was this directory on locally mounted storage (your internal hard drive), or was it a remote filesystem (nfs/cifs/or some other Network Attached Storage)?
